Funeral Services 12:00 Noon Friday, October 10, 2014 at White House United Methodist Church in Orangeburg with burial at McGrill Family Cemetery in Elloree with Rev. Mack Hutson and Rev. Marie Ray officiating directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
Pallbearers will be Fred Axson, Troy Zeigler, Mitchell Zeigler, Joe Moore, Justin Kittrell and Tony Kittrell. Honorary Pallbearers White House United Methodist Church Men's Club
He was born September 18, 1937 in Elloree, SC; the son of the late Guilford R. Etheredge and the late Alma Wiles Etheredge. He was a member of White House United Methodist Church and a member of the Men's Club. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was retired owner and operator of Murphy's Superette for 20 years and also retired Manager of Dukes Bar-B-Que for 20 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather to his family and all. He was full of life and never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by a brother; Bubba Etheredge and a sister; Charlotte Smith.
SURVIVORS include his wife; Molly J. Etheredge of Elloree; 1 daughter; Tracy (Randy) Parks of North Augusta; 4 sons; Jay Etheredge of Elloree; Rodney (Sandy) Hardee of Cordova; Jeffrey Hardee of Elloree; Levon (Missy) Hardee of Branchville; 2 sisters; Ann (John) Zeigler of Santee and Jeanette Beaudrot of Charleston; grand- children; Ben Schnider, Brian Etheredge, Brittany Etheredge; Corey Hardee; Rick Craven; Justin Kittrell; Claire Parks, Julia Etheredge and Savanna Kittrell; a special pet; Sophie; a special friend; Richard Dukes.
Friends may call at the residence; 981 Old River Road; Elloree and at the funeral home.
Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
