Julius “Buddy” Leroy May, 89 of Orangeburg passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg

The family will receive friends before the service Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Adam Smith, Jonathan May, Chris Spencer, Jay Moore, Doc Adams and Wayne DeWitt, Jr.

Funeral  Services will be held  11:00 AM Friday, June 28, 2019 at  Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg with Pastor Tony Lupton officiating.  Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Orangeburg.

Mr. Buddy was born July 15, 1929 in Orangeburg, SC; the son of the late William Brooks May and the late Lillie Lurline Faulkner May. He retired from Greenwood Mills and was in the Amusement Business for 26 years. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene; a member of Masonic Lodge 356, and a Shriner; a member of Yorkrite and Omar Temple. He was the widower of the late Blanche Way May and was preceded in death by 3 daughters, Jewel Edwards, Frances Spencer, and Gloria Diane May; 1 brother; Walter Brooks May and 4 sisters; Ruby Crosby, Mary Lou DeWitt, Lillian Smith and Gracie May.

Survivors include 1 son; Julius E. “Manny” May (Debbie) of Orangeburg; 2 daughters; Jennie McAlhany of Branchville and Gale (Bill) Davis of Cheyenne, WY; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren also a number of nieces and nephews.
