June "Edna" Balcum Bauerle

Mrs. "Edna" June Balcum Bauerle, 91, entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 24, 2014.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, March 1, 2014, at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 1606 Russell Street, Orangeburg, SC 29115, with Rev. Rick Belser officiating. Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Charles Livingston, Jason Livingston, Todd Livingston, Bruce Bauerle, Robert Sandifer, and Larry Davenport.

Mrs. Bauerle was born December 4, 1922 in Whitesboro, New York, a daughter of the late Edna Bielby Balcum and the late Earl Balcum and brought-up by the late Edward and Anna Slawson. Edna graduated from Whiteboro Central High School in 1941. She moved to Orangeburg in 1962 with her husband and Utica Tool Company. Mrs. Bauerle was a longtime employee of Wannamaker Drug Store, worked in the Gift Shop at the Regional Medical Center and retired from Belks in the Orangeburg Mall. Edna was a life member of the Eutaw Chapter #162 Order of the Eastern Star and the Newcomers Club. Mrs. Bauerle was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert "Red" Bauerle, her brother, Robert Balcum and her son, David Bauerle.

Survivors are her daughter, Gale (Charles) Livingston of Orangeburg; a son Bruce (Connie) Bauerle of San Augustine, Texas; daughter-in-law, Willa "Sunny" Bauerle of Dayton, Texas; grandchildren; Geri Wood of Johns Island, SC, Todd and Jason Livingston of Orangeburg, David "Dee" Bauerle, Jr. of St. George, SC; great grandchildren; Abigale "Abbie" Wood of Orangeburg; Scott Bauerle of St. George, SC; brother, Richard Balcum of North Myrtle, SC.

Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday, February 28, 2014 at the Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

The family would like to give Special Thanks to Mrs. Edna's Caregivers; Arlene Riley, Vanessa Coulter, Connie Smalls and Mary Riley.
