Karen Varnes

Karen Varnes, 62, of Elloree, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, February 9, 2025.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many with her kindness, strength, and love for her family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dianne Cup; her father, Roy Sullivan; and her beloved husband, Michael Varnes.

She is survived by her five children: Aaron Varnes and his wife Britney, Tamra Varnes, Douglas Dickson and Megan, Donald Dickson and his wife Lisa, and Jessica Brown and her husband AJ. Her legacy continues through her 17 cherished grandchildren: Caicenn, Braelynn Varnes, Waylen Varnes, Aaron Varnes Jr., Kyler Nettles, and Braxton Parrot; Bella Dickson, Donnie Dickson, and Dallas Dickson; Eric Debien Jr., Harlin Debien, Jesse Debien, Gracelynn Debien, and Sullivan Debien; and Jackson Brown, River Brown, and CJ Brown. She was also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Lincoln Debien, Harper Debien, and Salem Debien.

Karen will be remembered for her deep love for her family, her generous spirit, and the warmth she brought to all who knew her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her love and legacy will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

A service to honor her life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 1012 Whitman Street, Orangeburg.  Rev. Alan Woodward will be officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Garden Cemetery, 1029 Rhame Street, Holly Hill.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel prior to the funeral service.
