With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kennedy Alanis Wood, who departed this life on June 2, 2026, at the age of 28.
Born on June 22, 1997, Kennedy lived life boldly and unapologetically. She was loud, outgoing, and never met a stranger. Her vibrant personality could light up any room, and her sense of humor kept those around her laughing. Kennedy always spoke her mind, had no filter, and wasn’t afraid to be exactly who she was. She could be aggravating at times, but she was also the kind of person you couldn’t help but love. Her presence was unforgettable, and the memories she created with family and friends will be cherished forever.
More than anything, Kennedy loved her family, especially her son, Rylan, who was the center of her world. Her love for him was endless, and the bond they shared was undeniable.
Kennedy is survived by her parents, Allison Ferguson and Bobby Wood Jr.; her beloved son, Rylan Wood; her boyfriend, Iquawn Fredrick; her sisters, Destiny Wood, Kelsie Wood, Camari Wood, and Jada Wood (Joseph); her brother, Riley Eason; her maternal grandparents, Jerry and Linda Whitesides; her aunts, Teresa Wood (Tammy Felder), Barbara Bell (Dwayne), Kim Russell (Rance), and Tracey Wiles (Matt); along with 10 nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Waiting to welcome her in Heaven were her paternal grandparents, Bobby and Madaline Wood Sr.
Though her time here was far too short, Kennedy lived fully, loved fiercely, and left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her laughter, energy, and unforgettable spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel prior to the funeral services.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever remembered.
