Kristi Denise Smith

Kristi Denise Smith, 53, of Orangeburg passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 24, 2025, with her family by her side.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 1012 Whitman Street, Orangeburg.  Rev. Larry Williams will be officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel prior to the funeral service.

Kristi was born in Orangeburg, S.C. on July 26, 1971.  She was the daughter of Mr. Wayne Smith and Mrs. Phyllis Hughes Barr.  She was a 1989 graduate of Orangeburg Preparatory School and 1991 graduate of Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College.  She enjoyed watching Nascar races and was a huge Bobby Labonte fan.  She loved going to country music concerts.  Kristi was an avid USC Gamecock and Washington Redskins fan.  She had a green thumb when it came to flowers but was not as successful with vegetables. She would get so excited when her cucumber plants grew cucumbers.  Kristi loved life.  She was outgoing and never met a stranger.  Her smile lit up the room and her laugh was contagious.  Her memory will forever live in the hearts of her family and friends.

Survivors include her parents, Phyllis Barr (Archie) and Wayne Smith, her stepbrother, Jamie C. Barr and a number of aunts, uncles and additional family and friends.

Kristi was preceded in death by her stepmother, Susan K. Smith, a stepsister, Dawn Marie Owens and a stepbrother, Jan Renfroe Barr.
