Lawrence W. Strock, Jr. , 77,  passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016 after an extended illness surrounded by his loving family and friends.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 23, 2016 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg, S.C.  Rev. Michael Price, Bishop Donald Oliver and Rev. Oliver Gidron will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Elloree First Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Cody Gregory, Kevin Sandifer, Brandon Hutson, Timmy Hooker, Joe Rich and Matt Teer.  Honorary pallbearers will be his high school class mates,  Jim Lambert and Johnny Siegler

Mr. Strock was born on July 8, 1939  in Orangeburg, S.C.  He was the son of the late Lawrence W. “Duley” Strock, Sr. and the late Virginia Huntley Strock.  He was a member of Journey Community Church in Orangeburg. Mr. Bill, as he was affectionately known was an avid motorcyclist. He had a friendly personality and  never met a stranger. He was a member of the “Hardees Breakfast Club.” He had a love for animals especially his beloved pet “Paco” who preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Cynthia C. Strock of the home; sons, L.W. Strock III (Amber) of St. Matthews, Gregory L. Strock (Timi Laggner) of Slidell, LA and William Taylor Strock of the home; sons by love, Travis Fulmer of Santee and Charlie Fenton of Neeses; daughters by love, Shari M. Raymond of Orangeburg and Cynthia V. Strock of Orangeburg; granddaughters, Meagan Nicole Strock of New Smyrna Beach FL and Marissa Danielle Strock of St. Matthews; sister Betty S. Witt of Elgin.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the Hospice Care of  S.C.  as well as a heartfelt thanks to the special “care angels” Chris and Charity Sandifer, Timmy and Jennie Hooker, Rhonda Ballard, Linda Hill, Laura Nichols and Phyllis Sandifer.

Visitation  will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Thompson Funeral Home in Orangeburg.
