Lawrence “Larry” Stroud

Lawrence “Larry” M. Stroud, 81, of Elloree, passed away on Sunday, August. 21, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 24, 2022at Fellowship of Praise Church, 8280 Old Number Six Hwy, Santee, S.C.  Rev. Ronnie Spires will be officiating.  Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 1012 Whitman Street, Orangeburg.

Pallbearers will be Gregg Riser, Marvin Cross, Lance Lee, Randy Huff, Bill Gurley, and Dewey Gregory.

Honorary pallbearers will be Noah Haltiwanger and Roger Kimmerlin.

Mr. Stroud was born on March 19, 1941 in Loris, S.C.  He was the son of the late Lawrence V. Stroud and the late Florrie Causey Stroud.  Mr. Stroud was an avid fisherman.  He enjoyed spending time on the water, but his passion was truly his family and his church.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.  He will forever be missed.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Linda Williams Stroud; children, Milton Stroud (Brenda), Denise Lee (Lance), Eric Stroud (Stephanie); grandchildren, Matthew Lee (Erin) Amanda Gladden (Tyler), McKenzie Guidry (John), Carson Stroud (Maggie); eight great-grandchildren; brother, Joe Stroud; sister, Diane Anderson, Mildred Granger, Sandy Stroud Altize.
