Leon Paul Spires
February 21, 1947 — September 12, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leon Paul Spires, 77, of West Columbia. He passed peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2024, in Orangeburg, S.C.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Leonzie Spires and Myrtis Chavis Spires, four sisters and one brother, Cammie Chavis Carrigg, Evelyn Chavis Beason, Margaret Chavis Hoover, Wilhelmina Chavis Stevenson and Legree Chavis.
He is survived by many nieces, nephews and close friends. He will be remembered for his love of bluegrass music, watching old movies and wrestling. We wish him Eternal Peace.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Beaver Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Neeses.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-5:00 P.M. on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel.
