Lindsey Matthew Wiles, born on November 6, 1959, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on October 9, 2025. He was a devoted farmer whose life was intricately woven with the land he cherished, spending countless hours cultivating his fields and tending to his beloved crops. Lindsey had a special affection for his John Deere tractor, which he affectionately named "Little Foot," symbolizing both his dedication to his work and the joy he found in it.
Lindsey is survived by his loving mother, Joycelyn Felkel Wiles of Elloree; his brother, Lawton Wiles and sister-in-law, Velvet, also of Elloree; his sister, Lori Jackson and brother-in-law, Andy, of Elloree; and his life partner, Freda Trupiano, who stood by his side through thick and thin. He leaves behind cherished memories with his nephews, Shane Wiles and his wife, Carol, and Chase Wiles and his wife, Katie, as well as his great nieces and nephews, Harper, Austin, Weston Wiles, and Annsley Jensen. He will also be missed by his beloved fur baby, "JC," who was a constant companion during his agricultural endeavors.
Lindsey was preceded in death by his father, Peter S. Wiles, Jr., who will forever remain in the hearts of his family members as they continue to honor his legacy.
A graveside service to celebrate Lindsey’s remarkable life will take place on October 12, 2025, at Cameron Memorial Cemetery, located off of Highway 33 in Cameron, South Carolina. The service will begin at 3:00 P.M. Rev. David Lee Mitchell will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials in Lindsey memory may be made to the Gideons International at PO Box 140800 Nashville, TN 37214-0800.
As family and friends remember Lindsey, they will reflect on a life filled with passion, commitment, and love for both his family and his craft, embodying the spirit of a true farmer. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
