Lois Davis Platt, 86(Formerly of 1421 Beason Road; Orangeburg) died Saturday, April 6, 2013 at The Methodist Oaks in Orangeburg

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 1:45 PM Monday at the church before the service Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, April 7, 2013 at St. George Baptist Church with burial in the Church Cemetery in Orangeburg. Rev. Brad Chandler and Rev. Ike Kittrell will be officiating directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg Pallbearers will be nephews and grandsons

Mrs. Platt was born March 13, 1927 in Neeses, SC; the daughter of the late Andrew Lee Davis and the late Beulah Hughes Davis. She was married to the late Donald Leroy Platt, Sr. who died on March 23, 2011. She was a dedicated member of St. George Baptist Church for many years and taught all ages from teenagers to ladies her age. She worked several years for Southern Bell and later wrote income tax for 40 years. She was owner of Community Tax Center. She was preceded in death by three brothers and sisters in law; Evie Lee (Delores) Davis; Broyce (Leta) Davis and Heyward (Elizabeth) Davis.

SURVIVORS include 1 son; Donald Leroy Platt, Jr. and Ruby of Warrenville, SC; a daughter; Dayle Platt Jones and Jimmie of Piedmont, SC; 5 grandchildren; Allyson Platt, Lee Platt, Ray Mackay, Jr., Lauren M. Warden (Cary) and Kristen Mackay; 2 great grandchildren; Matthew Murphy and Emalee Chavis. Also surviving are a brother; Thurman (Marian) Davis of Springfield and Carolyn (Lee) Potter of Orangeburg.

VISITATION WILL BE HELD 1:00 to 1:45 PM Monday before the service at the church.
