Lorene (Munn) Rider

Lorene Munn Rider, 93, of Orangeburg passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023, after an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 1012 Whitman Street, Orangeburg.  Mrs. Rider’s great-grandson, Dustin Metts will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, 4830 Columbia Road, Orangeburg.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Rider’s grandchildren are honored to serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Rider was born on July 29, 1929, in Kershaw County.  She was the daughter of the late Heyward Munn and the late Hattie Rodgers Munn. She was employed for many years with Utica Tool as a machine operator.  She was a member of Rivelon Baptist Church in Orangeburg.

Survivors include her children, Don (Debra) Rider, Patricia “Sissy” Jennings, Malcolm Rider; twenty-five grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren; a number of great-great grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers.
