Mamie Lou Chavis

Mrs. Chavis was born June 17, 1924 in Orangeburg County; daughter of the late Victor Chavis and Navy Williams Chavis. She was a retired seamstress from Sally Manufacturing Company. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; two sons, Jerry Chavis and Danny Boyer. Survivors include son Marvin (Patsy) Chavis of Blackville, S.C.; daughter Katie Jeffcoat of Jefferson, S.C.; daughter Martha Hancock of Columbia, S.C.; daughter Sarah Lindsey of North Carolina; son Wayne (Brenda) Chavis of Cordova, S.C.; son Donnie (Nancy) Chavis of Grovetown GA; and daughter Lori (Jeff) Jones of Hephzibah, GA; two sisters, Daisy Campbell of Cordova; Lou Ella Sullivan of Batesburg, S.C.; two brothers, Frank Chavis of Pamlico, S.C. and Victor Chavis of Connecticut; 27 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg, S.C. with burial at Beaver Creek Baptist Church cemetery near Neeses, S.C. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc in Orangeburg, S.C.
