Obituary

Mamie L. Owens, born on December 11, 1935, and who left this beautiful world on January 31, 2026, was a remarkable woman whose memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends. Mamie's spirit shone brightly through her compassion, her love for all living beings and her unwavering dedication to her family.

For many years, Mamie lent her talents to Ambler Industries, where she worked diligently in the sewing room, showcasing not only her skills but also her commitment to providing for those she loved. She found fulfillment in her work, pouring her heart into every stitch, and it was this exemplary work ethic that inspired many around her.

Mamie's love for her family was immeasurable. Surrounded by her loved ones at the time of her passing, she left this life knowing how deeply she was adored. For her nieces - Donna Williamson (Larry), Teresa Snelgrove (Norman), Cathy Lloyd, Debby McCary, and Diane Inabinet (Paul) - and her nephews, James Lucas and Barry Hutto and numerous great nieces and great nephews, she was not just an aunt but a confidant, a nurturer and a source of warmth and laughter. Mamie had a unique way of making everyone feel special.

In her personal life, Mamie's love extended to her beloved cats, whom she treasured and cared for with the same devotion she gave to her family. Her green thumb was evident in her well-tended yard, where vibrant flowers blossomed, providing a special sanctuary for both her and the creatures that called it home. Those who knew Mamie would often recall her joyful hours spent planting flowers and admiring their beauty as they flourished, a reflection of the kindness that grew within her.

Mamie was predeceased by a loving group of family members who surely welcomed her with open arms. She is now reunited with her parents, Jessie and Mary Ann Hooker Godwin, her dear husband, Ernie Owens, her beloved sisters, Mary Joyce Hutto and Minnie Lee Lucas, as well as her nephew, Jack Hutto, and her special friend, T.D. Rucker.

Mamie L. Owens leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and blooming gardens, a testament to a life lived with purpose and joy. Though she may be gone from our sight, she will forever remain in our hearts, guiding us with the love she so freely shared. Let us remember her as a devoted family member, the caring friend, and the passionate nurturer of all things beautiful.
