Margie Young Rice

Margie Young Rice, 76, of Orangeburg, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at MUSC after an extended illness.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Mary Ellen Young, brothers, JW Young, James Young, and sisters, Susie Goodwin, Lois Nettles, and Dot Walling.  Margie was a 1966 graduate of Edisto High School.  Margie loved the simple things in life.  She enjoyed spending time with those she loved.  She especially loved making those around her laugh, and she adored her fur babies. She will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her son, Ronnie Gene Rice of Orangeburg, grandson, Austin Gene Rice, sisters, Martha Berry of Orangeburg, Sherry (Lenny) Wolfe of Cordova, and many nieces and nephews.

A private family memorial service will be held to celebrate her life.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Thompson Funeral home to assist with the burial fund of Margie Rice.
