Marie Singletary Porcher , 95,  passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016 at The Methodist Oaks.  Funeral services will be held at  12:00 P.M. on Monday, September 26, 2016 at  Northside Baptist Church in Orangeburg.  Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.  Dr. Rev. Shane Stutzman and Rev. Jim Parnell  will be officiating.

Pallbearers  will be Mrs. Porcher’s grandsons.

Mrs. Porcher was born on November 6, 1920 in Orangeburg, S.C.  She was the daughter of the late George W. Jones, Sr. and the late Fermelia Myers Jones.  She was a member of Northside Baptist Church.  Mrs. Porcher worked at the Orangeburg Regional Hospital and The Methodist Oaks as a nurse's aid.  She was predeceased by her husbands, Fentress Troy Singletary and Benjamin (Jim) Porcher and by a son; Clyde Singletary.

Survivors include her daughter Mary Ann LaFrance (Lewis) of Orangeburg; 5 grandchildren, Lewis LaFrance, Jr. (Rhonda) of Columbia, Kenneth LaFrance of Myrtle Beach, Christy LaFrance Williamson (Marcus) and Tammy Hill (Wes) and Chris Loadholt all of Orangeburg; 5 great-grandsons, Michael LaFrance, Justin Lepley, Tristan Hill, Dylan Hill and Seth Williamson and 1 great-granddaughter Myah Williamson and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Grove Park Hospice and the Comfort Care at the Oaks for all of their love and support.

Friends may call at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc.

Visitation will be held from 11:00-12:00 at Northside Baptist Church prior to the funeral service.
