Marion Chavis, 84 of Bamberg died Tuesday June 30, 2015 at the Orangeburg Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

The Casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 3, 2015 at Church of the Nazarene; 97 Sanders St., Bamberg, SC with burial at South End Cemetery in Bamberg with Rev. Dana Wolfe officiating directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

Pallbearers will be Troy Haddock, Anthony Haddock, Kevin Fisk, Allen Fisk, Lee Comerford and Chris Comerford.

He was born September 29,1930 in Blackville-Barnwell County; the son of the late Erza Chavis and the late Lizzie .He retired from the S.C. State School Bus Shop. He served with Bamberg Fire Department for many years and also enjoyed fishing. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Bamberg. He was the widower of the late Margie Drawdy Chavis and was preceded in death by a daughter, Judi Haddock.

Survivors include his children; Steve Haddock (Delaine) of Bamberg; Dean Haddock of Cordova; Nancy Comerford (Terry) of Cordova; Al Chavis (Mary) of Orangeburg; and Misty Cook (Allen) of Bamberg; 10 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Friends may call at the funeral home.

Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
