Mrs. Marjorie Adell Hancock, 90 of Cameron entered into eternal rest Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the Regional Medical Center with her family by her side.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg with burial at Four Holes Baptist Church Cemetery in Orangeburg withRev. Tom McElhaney officiating directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg
PALLBEARERS will be Tony Kittrell, Tim Browning, Joseph Browning, Jeffrey Browning, Corey Browning, Lavance Hughes, Jr., Mac Hughes, Jr. and Wesley Hughes
She was born January 23, 1923 in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Edward Arthur Hughes and the late Rachel Martha Zeigler Hughes. She was raised in Calhoun County and attended Calhoun County schools. She worked as a seamstress and loved and cared for many children. She enjoyed fishing, working in her yard and garden, and cooking for the family. She was a member of Four Holes Baptist Church and enjoyed taking trips with her Sunday School class. She attended the Oaks PACE program where she loved playing bingo and spending time with her many friends whom she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years; James W. Hancock, her oldest son; James Douglas Hancock; her 4 brothers; Edgar Hughes, Mack Hughes, Virgil Hughes and Vance Hughes, and her sisters; Annie Bell Hughes Zeigler and Juanita Hughes Wiles. She is survived by her son; Daniel Vernon Hancock of Cope; her daughter; Rachel Ann Hancock Harley and husband Johnny of Orangeburg; three grandchildren; Rhonda Harley Browning and husband Tim of Orangeburg; Bryan Harley and wife, Georgeanna of Providence, KY and Jamie Hancock and wife, Mickey of Smoaks. Also left to cherish her memory are six great grandchildren; Joseph Browning, Jeffrey Browning and Corey Browning of Orangeburg; Meredith Harley, Leah Harley and Jacob Harley of Providence, KY ; three sisters-in-law; Emma Hughes of Holly Hill; Susie Hughes of Orangeburg and Rosetta Leaphart of Gilbert; a host of special nieces and nephews, and her beloved cat, Mama-Mama.
FRIENDS MAY CALL AT the residence and at the funeral home.
VISITATION WILL BE HELD 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

The family would like to say a Special "Thank You" to all of the staff at the Oaks PACE and to all of the nurses, nursing assistants, therapists, physicians, and other staff of TRMC's Medical Surgical Step-Down Unit (MSSU) for the love, kindness and excellent professional medical care they provided.
