Mary Elizabeth Benton

Mary Elizabeth Crosby Benton, 79, of Cope passed away peacefully on Friday, March 22, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Canaan Baptist Church, 4977 Cannon Bridge Road, Cope.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 P.M. at Canaan Baptist Church prior to the service.

Mrs. Benton was born on September 23, 1944 in Savannah, GA.  She was the daughter of the late Joe Green and the late Josephine Adicks Green.  She worked for many years as a legal secretary until her retirement. Her family was her life. The love she showed her family was unwavering. She will forever be missed.

Survivors include her daughter, Wendy Rutland (Jama); granddaughters, Savannah Rutland (Ryan Brown), Harley Berry, Kristina Williams (Justin), Brooke Benton; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alvenia Green, Linda Reagin (Mike) and daughter-in-law, Jeanine Benton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ray and a son, Paul.
