Mary Ellen (Cross) Dannelly

Mary Ellen Cross Dannelly, 87, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Mary was born in Cross, S.C. to the late Webster Deholme Cross and the late Ruth Winningham Cross.  She was a faithful member of Two-Mile Swamp Baptist Church where she coached softball and sang in the choir.  Mrs. Mary was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary with the Bolentown Fire Department.   She had many hobbies, but her favorite was fishing.  All anyone needed to do was ask her to go fishing and she would respond, “give me a minute.”  She also enjoyed working in her yard and putting together puzzles.  Her pride and joy were her children and her grandchildren.  She loved being a “Meme” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Roger Dannelly, and a brother, Adam D. Cross.

Survivors include her children, William “Tim” Timothy Dannelly (Sandra), James “Tony” Anthony Dannelly (Rhonda), Carol Dannelly Ayers (Keith); grandchildren, Ashley Branham (Dustin), Lauren Edgemon (Jeff), Tristan Rice (Freddie), Evan Williams (Kristen), Katelyn Strock (Josh); great-grandchildren, Avery Branham, Wrenley Branham, Kerri Whetstone, Mackenzi Rice, Cheyenne Rice, Sutherlyn Williams, Rylee Strock, Waylon Strock; special friends, Larry Bates (Wanda) and a number of nieces, nephews and additional family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Two-Mile Swamp Baptist Church, 1066 Bonnette Rd Cope.  Rev. James Williams and Rev. Ted Williams will be officiating.  Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at the church prior to the funeral service.
