Mary H. Crosby Moore went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 3, 2026.
Mrs. Moore was born on December l, 1938. She graduated from Orangeburg High School in 1956 and afterward attended and graduated from Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She spent most of her adult life serving her Lord, teaching the Bible and working in the music ministry in a number of churches in the area.
Mrs. Moore worked professionally for many years in a number of law offices, beginning as a legal secretary and eventually as a paralegal. Later in life her interests changed, and she became a florist, owning and operating Moore's Flowers & Gifts in Elloree, S. C. Mrs. Moore is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie Lynne and Stephen Sauls; her son, John L. (Jay) Moore, III; one grandchild, Heather “Kai-Lee” Kenniz; two sisters, Shirley (A.D.) Irick, and Connie Adams; a special cousin, Barbara Jean (David) Cherry, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Moore was predeceased by her husband, John L. Moore, Jr., her father and mother, Ernest Benjamin and Ruby Hazel May Crosby, and two sisters, Annette (Alton) Roberson and Betty Jean (Johnnie) Jackson and brother-in-law, Charles “Doc” Adams.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 12:00 P.M. at Thompson Funeral Home in Orangeburg, S.C. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Hebron Methodist Church, 3471 Una Road, Bishopville, S.C. The Rev. Bobby Williams and Rev. Lawrence Cook will be officiating. The music will be offered by Mrs. Moore's close friends, Wanda Pfeiffer and Connie Martin.
Pallbearers will be Charles “Chuck” Adams, Jr., Benjy Adams, Rhett Adams, Ryan Adams, Robby Lee, and Bryan Lee.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Roy Roberson, Danny Kennerly, and Charlie Martin.
