Mary Louise Hughes

Mary Louise Hughes, 90 of Orangeburg went to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Pruitt Healthcare of Orangeburg, SC surrounded by her family.

The Casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Gospel Light Baptist Church; 116 Gospel Hill Ct., Orangeburg, SC with burial at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery; Neeses, SC with Rev. Tom Brookshire officiating directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

Pallbearers will be Henry Hughes, Gregg Berry, Aaron Berry, Chris Hughes, Rickie Hughes and Orin Perkins.

Mrs. Hughes was born August 8, 1924 in Delray, FL; she was the daughter of the late Ben L. Foster and the late Essie Mae Blume Foster. She had 7 brothers and 3 sisters. She was a member of the Gospel Light Baptist Church and was retired from Utica Tool Company. She was the widow of the late Leroy Hughes.

Survivors include 5 children and Kirstie Berry of Orangeburg; Betty H. Free of Orangeburg, SC; Hubert (Roy) Hughes of Clio, MI; Carl (Janet) Hughes of Lexington, SC; Henry (Rita) Hughes of Pelion, SC and Patricia Colvin of Charlotte, NC. She had 10 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 23 great great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the residence of her daughter, Betty Free, Orangeburg, SC and at the funeral home.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
