Mary Louise (Lou) "Nannie" May DeWitt, 86 of 2194 Charleston Road; Orangeburg died Thursday, July 11, 2013 at The Methodist Oaks in Orangeburg.

****The Casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service **** Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, July 14, 2013 at First Church of the Nazarene; 450 Woodbine; Orangeburg with burial Memorial Park Cemetery in Orangeburg with Rev. Will Harvey, Rev. Billy Williams and Rev. Larry Williams officiating directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

Pallbearers will be Wayne DeWitt, Jr., Charles Randy DeWitt, Michael Tindall, Noah Garris, Jay Moore and Dillon Crosby.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dewitt's Daycare Family and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class.

She was born September 9, 1926 in Orangeburg, SC; the daughter of the late William Brooks May and the late Lillie Lurline Faulkner May. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School. She was owner and operator of DeWitt's Daycare and she was also a seamstress at Orangeburg Garment. She was loved and known by the name "Nannie". She was preceded in death by Baby Girl DeWitt and a granddaughter; Tiffany Charlene DeWitt and by a sister; Ruby Crosby and by her ex-husband; Kisler W. (K.W.) DeWitt.

Survivors include 1 daughter; Mrs. David E. (Barbara) Cherry of Orangeburg; 2 sons; Wayne Kisler DeWitt, Sr. and Charles Leland (Linda) DeWitt both of Orangeburg; 4 grandchildren; Wayne Kisler DeWitt, Jr.; Charles Randy DeWitt; Valerie Michelle Tindall; 2 great grandchildren; Christopher Michael Tindall and Courtney Nicole Tindall; 1 sister; Mrs. Lillian Smith of California; 1 brother; Julius L. May of Orangeburg.

Friends may call at the residence; 2194 Charleston Road, Orangeburg and at the funeral home. Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

Memorials may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene; 450 Woodbine Drive; Orangeburg, SC 29115 or to the American Lung Association Southeast Region; 1817 Gadsden Street, Columbia, SC 29201.
