Mary Kathryn (Santry) Read

Mary Kathryn Santry Read, 66, of Cordova, S.C. passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023, after an extended illness.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023, at 12:00 P.M. at Canaan Baptist Church, 4977 Cannon Bridge Road, Cope, S.C. Rev. Alan Woodard will be officiating.

Mrs. Read was born on May 21, 1956, in Philadelphia, PA. She was the daughter of the late James K. and the late Kathryn M. Santry. She was the strongest, most resilient woman you ever met, with a laugh that was contagious and heart of a servant. Never putting herself first and always loving her husband, children and grandchildren fiercely.

Those who loved her will miss her sharp wit, sense of humor, easy going free-spirit and her ability to bring everyone together with a good meal. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Kevin Santry.

She is survived by her husband Ed Read, Jr.; children Becky Read (Chris), Jaclyn Read (John); grandchildren, Hannah Elizabeth Sipes, James Ryan Sipes; sisters, Eileen Borkowski, Patricia Hopkins, Colleen Henry, Denise Kalesnik; brother in-law, William "Bill" Read (Kathy) and a number of nieces and nephews.
