Mattie Crider Lewis

January 1, 1935 — November 4, 2019

Mattie Lewis,84 of Rowesville affectionately known as “Micki” was the daughter of the late Hutto and Lizzie Crider. She went into eternal rest on Monday, November 4, 2019 at her home after an extended illness.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg with Rev. Ken Hay officiating.

She was born January 1, 1935 in Denmark, SC; the daughter of the late Hutto Crider and the late Lizzie Crider. She was educated in Denmark and Orangeburg School Districts.  She worked at Star Flo Val Company for twelve years as a Quality Leader.  She was a dedicated member of Rowesville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hutto and Lizzie Crider, her beloved husband, Wiley F. Lewis and her sister, Lurline F. Garrick.

Her memory will be cherished by her children, two sons, Craig S. Lewis of the home in Rowesville, S.C., Kenny (Felicia) Bates of Orangeburg, S.C., daughter, Peggy L. (John) Schofield of Evans, GA;  four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Swinton (Linda) Crider of Newport Tennessee and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Memorials may be made to Dementia Society of America; PO Box 600, Doyleston, PA 18901.

The family wish to express sincere thanks and appreciation for the many acts of kindness shown and prayers rendered during this difficult time.
