McKeithon Haddock Jr. passed away unexpectedly at his home on May 22, 2024. He was known by Junior to his family and friends, and "Mr. Wonderful" to his grandchildren. He was 74 years old. He was born on August 13, 1949, in Orangeburg, SC and was a lifelong resident of Orangeburg County.
Junior was predeceased by his loving parents McKeithon Haddock Sr. and Mae Elizabeth (Barnes) Haddock and a grandson, Kylin Elliott.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories two daughters, Rachel Haddock and Rhonda (Travis) Elliott both of Bowman, 3 grandchildren, Rachelle Blockett, Mason Haddock, and Jayce Elliott, all of Bowman, 3 sisters, Margaret (Tommy) Gillam of Orangeburg, Joan Keitt of Cope, and Doris Aldridge of Columbia, and a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Junior will always be remembered as a music lover, avid golfer, and a huge Carolina Gamecocks fan. His most recent favorite past time was watching his grandsons play sports and laughing at the antics of his granddaughter. He proudly served in the SC National Guard and retired recently from the Times & Democrat after over 40 years of employment.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 11 AM at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will follow the memorial at the home of his sister, Margaret Gilliam on Cedar Lane, Orangeburg. The family suggests memorials be made to a charity of one's choice.
