Melinda Jean Gunby, 61 of 2101 Legrand Smoak Street; Cordova died Tuesday July 23, 2013 at her residence.
A Memorial Service will be held 7:00 PM Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg with Pastor Tommy Pearson officiating.
She was born August 22, 1951 in Tampa, Florida; the daughter of the late Melvin Jennings Brown and the late Edna Adele Henry. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. She was retired from StarFlow Corporation. She was the widow of the late Steve Gunby and was preceded in death by a son; Gary R. "Bubba" Jones.
Survivors include 1 daughter; Tammy Jones Athey of Texas; 1 son; Steven D. (Monica) Jones of Cordova; 1 sister; Cindy Biggs of Detroit, MI; 3 brothers; Mark Whitehouse and Wayne Whitehouse both of Detroit, MI; Leslie Brown of Jacksonville, FL; special friends; Michael Buck, Sr. and Donnie and Sharon Stephens all of Cordova; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the residence and at the funeral home.
