Michael "Mccoy" Barr

It is with tremendous sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Michael “McCoy” Barr announce his sudden and tragic passing on April 20, 2025. McCoy was loved by so many and enjoyed skating on Friday with his friends, hunting, fishing, gaming, listening to music and hanging out with his family. McCoy was the son of Michael and Amanda Hall Barr.  He was born on July 12, 2010, in Orangeburg, S.C.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Magen Westberry. Survivors include his parents; sisters, Deseray Davis (Karl), Cindy Blackburn (Tyler); paternal grandparents, Ronnie and Janice Barr; maternal grandmother, Carolyn Hall; nieces, Ava Rouse, Briar Davis; nephew, Liam Blackburn; aunt, Felicia Scott; cousin, Kayla Oates and additional family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 727 Waterspring Road, Orangeburg. Pastor Trey Atkinson will be officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 1012 Whitman Street Orangeburg. Honored to serve as pallbearers are “Bubba” Davis, Tyler Garrett, Josh Cervantes, Josh Callamag, Shawn Grubbs and Matthew Grubbs.
