Michael "Mike" Edward Bombard

Michael “Mike” Edward Bombard, 63, of Orangeburg passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, with his family by his side.

Mike was born on September 1, 1961, in Orangeburg, S.C.  He was the son of the late Robert E. Bombard and Dorothy Bolton Bombard.  After high school Mike attended and received a degree in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech University.  He was a life-long member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Orangeburg, where he was famous for his hush puppies and coleslaw when the church had a fish fry.  He was the financial secretary for the Knights of Columbus for the last 20 years.  He retired from DPU after over 20 years of employment.  Once he retired, he enjoyed traveling, camping and taking his fur baby for daily walks.  He was preceded in death by his father, a sister, Becky Austin and a nephew, William Logan.

Survivors include his mother, Dorothy “Dot” Bombard of Orangeburg; sisters, Barbara B. Logan (A.J.) of St. Matthews, Donna B. Foster (Michael) of Mooresville, N.C.; nieces and nephews, Wes Austin, Missy Cook (Bill), Davis Foster; great-niece, Carly Cook; his fur baby, “Maggie” and many additional family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2202 Riverbank Drive, Orangeburg.  Father Debritto will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, 4830 Columbia Road, Orangeburg.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church prior to the funeral service.  At other times family and friends may come by the residence of his mother.

Members of the Knights of Columbus will be serving as pallbearers.
