Mildred (Hoover) Cook

Mildred Hoover Cook, 84, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.

A Graveside Service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Keith Vaughn officiating. Services directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

Mrs. Cook was born on August 3, 1934 in Orangeburg.  She was the daughter of the late Eunice Gene Hoover and the late Pearlie Chavis Hoover.  She was a member of Columbia Road Church of God.  Her passion was gardening and working in her yard.  She loved all types of roses.  She won several top awards at the county fair for Horticulture.  She was predeceased by a sister, Doris Haddock.

Survivors include her children, Bobby R. Cook, Patricia Smith; grandchildren, Christopher Smith, Richard Smith, Brandon Cook, Angela Ritchie; five great-grandchildren; brother, Homer (Rosie) Hoover; sister, Helen (Willie) Chavis; special friend, Roy Cherry and a number of nieces and nephews.
