Nancy Leigh (Kesson) Pennington

Nancy Leigh Kesson-Pennington, 48, of North passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, after an extended illness.

A Celebration of Life service will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 1012 Whitman Street, Orangeburg.

Nancy was born in Lakeland, FL to Mr. Roy Kesson and the late Hannah Catherine Boltin.  She was a 1993 graduate of Orangeburg Wilkinson High School.  She participated in the ROTC while in high school that led to her love of guns.  She enjoyed shooting in turkey shoots and hunting.  Her favorite places were the beach and the mountains.  As a result of her Native American heritage, she loved animals.  She was known to rescue any animal that was injured.

Survivors include her loving husband of 23 years, James “Jim” Pennington, Jr.; son, James “Jimmy” Pennington, III; father, Roy Kesson; brother, Charlie Kesson; father-in-law, James Edward Pennington, Sr. (Gayle); sister-in-law, Denise Inabinet (Shane); brothers-in-law, Brendon Pennington (Jackie), Matt Pennington; a number of nieces and nephews as well as four bearded dragons, two dogs and a kitten.
