Norma Carr Starkey Collins of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2017, while surrounded by family at the home of her beloved daughter, Cynthia Gross. She was 78 years old when she succumbed to Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Norma was born in Charleston, West Virginia, the daughter of the late John D. and Ruth Denman Carr.

She is survived by her siblings, Carolyn Carr Moe (Dr. Robert) of Schwenksville, Pennsylvania, and Steven D. Carr (Sharon) of Liberty, South Carolina her four children, Chauncey W. Starkey, Jr., (Christine) of Cartersville, Virginia, Cynthia Starkey Gross of Blythewood, South Carolina, John S. Starkey (Alana) of Cartersville, Virginia, and Shawn C. Starkey (Wendy) of Richmond, Virginia nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Norma spent most of her career with Darnall W. Boyd & Company and Palmetto Health in Columbia. She also
loved traveling with family.

A special thanks to Palmetto Health HOSPICE and SCOA for their care and compassion. Norma’s family will have a quiet graveside service at Crestlawn Cemetery in Orangeburg, South Carolina, with her son, Reverend Chauncey Starkey, Jr., officiating at eleven o’clock on Saturday, August 12, 2017.
