Norman Craft Jeffcoat Jr

Norman Craft Jeffcoat, Jr., 74 of Orangeburg died Monday, November 25, 2013 at the Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in Columbia.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 30, 2013 At New Hope Baptist Church in Orangeburg with Rev. Wayne Ellis, Rev. Bob Bolen, and Rev. Henry Cooper officiating directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg. Burial will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia at a later date.

Mr. Jeffcoat was born November 21, 1939 in Orangeburg, SC; the son of the late Norman Craft Jeffcoat, Sr. and the late Essie Mae Dickey Jeffcoat. He graduated from Orangeburg High School. He attended the University of South Carolina. He served in the U.S. Navy (Air Branch) and was a veteran of the Cuban Crisis. He was a past member of the Edisto Lion's Club. He was active with the Boy Scouts in Cordova and Orangeburg. He was a member of Saint Paul's United Methodist Church, after retiring he found his church home at New Hope Baptist Church in Orangeburg, SC where he became a Deacon. He was on the original Advisory Board of O.C. Tech. He was retired from Daniel Construction and worked as an Independent Industrial Consultant traveling over much of the United States. Norman will always be remembered for his unique artwork and photos influenced by his love of nature and travel.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Blewer Jeffcoat of the home; one daughter; Susan D. (Joseph William) Farr of Orangeburg; one son; Michael David Jeffcoat of Lugoff, SC; one brother; John M (Nancy Carol) Jeffcoat of Orangeburg; one brother-in-law; David T. (Mary Ellen) Blewer of Augusta, GA; two nieces; Carol (Thomas) Summers of Cameron; Nancy B. (Mikael) Salomon of Beverly Hills, CA; one nephew; Tony A. (Bonita) Blewer of Lugoff, SC; three grand nieces, Elizabeth Craft Frick, Ava Salomon, Ryan Blewer; three grand nephews, Jerry Frick, Alec Salomon and Tab Blewer. He also leaves behind all of his "adopted children" in his life.

Friends may call at the residence and at the funeral home. Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, November 29, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
