Oscar Alvery Goodwin , 87 of 1000 Live Oak Drive; Orangeburg died Friday March 22, 2013 at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, March 25, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg with Rev. Larry Williams officiating. Burial will be held at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
Pallbearers will be his nephews
He was born June 19, 1925 in Orangeburg County, SC; the son of the late Louis Oscar Goodwin and the late Louise Ferguson Goodwin. He was a member of Rivelon Baptist Church. Mr. Goodwin was self-employed owner and operator of small engine repairs. He also taught small engine repairs at Orangeburg Calhoun Technical College. He was preceded in death by a brother; Gene R. Goodwin.
Survivors include 3 sisters; Dorothy Rast of Orangeburg; Frances Fogle (Bobby) of Neeses and Gladys Arends of Cordova; 1 brother; Henry Goodwin (Kathy) of Orangeburg; a sister-in-law; Roberta Goodwin of Orangeburg; 13 nieces and nephews; a special friend; Carolina Padgett of Orangeburg.
VISITATION WILL BE HELD from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Monday before the service at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
