Peggy Gartman Kinard

Peggy Gartman Kinard, born on December 8, 1947, and beloved member of her community, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025, in Smoaks, South Carolina. She will be remembered for her enduring love for family and the countless moments she devoted to those she cherished.

Peggy was a devoted mother, leaving behind her daughters, Sandra Kinard Smith, Lisa Kinard, Angel Pauls, and Ashley Pauls. Her deep affection for her daughters was apparent in every endeavor she undertook throughout her life, and she served as a source of strength and inspiration to them. Peggy is also survived by her cherished nieces, Shelby Ashe and Makenna Ashe, who adored her as a gentle and nurturing presence in their lives.

In addition to her daughters and nieces, Peggy is mourned by her brothers, Bobby Gartman, Jack Gartman, and Daniel Gartman, as well as her sisters, Mary Levetter, Elizabeth Smith, and Stella Stack. The bonds of family meant everything to Peggy, and she nurtured these connections with a warmth that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert and Alice Hooker Gartman. Their legacy of love and resilience undoubtedly influenced the wonderful matriarch Peggy became.

Friends and family are invited to pay their final respects during the visitation on September 27, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service starting at 3:00 PM, both held at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg, South Carolina.

Peggy Gartman Kinard’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones as a testament to a life well-lived, characterized by unwavering devotion, love, and family loyalty. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
