Peter S. Santoro

Peter S. Santoro, 93, of Orangeburg passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024, after an extended illness.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.

Mr. Santoro was born on March 18, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois.  He was the son of the late Sam Santoro and the late Bernice Bakshauki.  He served his country in the United States Marine Corps.  Mr. Santoro retired as a police officer with the Chicago police department.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Reed Santoro; daughters, Darlene Santoro Cesario (Sam) of Indiana, Deborah Kassis (Michael) of California, Dawn Santoro of Illinois; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Michael Garoutte and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Peter Santoro and a daughter, Denise Garoutte.

Memorials may be given to a charity of one’s choice.
