Phil A. Drawdy

Phil Aquilla Drawdy, 84, of Vance passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at home.

Mr. Drawdy was born on November 29, 1939, in Bowman, S.C.  He was the son of the late Aquilla Fulton Drawdy and Flossie Ayers Drawdy.  He worked construction for many years before retiring to the lake.  We celebrate the life of Phil by remembering how easily he made friends and his love for life that made him fun to be around.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, having fish fries and sharing homegrown vegetables.  He had a gift of working with his hands and could fix almost anything around the house.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Sharon Drawdy Russell, a granddaughter, Margo Shuler, his sisters, Jewel Chavis, Bonnie Shearer, Iris Lohan, his brothers, Ralph Drawdy, Jensen Drawdy, C.F. Drawdy, and Kenneth Drawdy.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Virginia Sutcliff Drawdy; children, Steve Drawdy, Michelle Newsome (Timmy), Travis Drawdy (Heather), Shane Drawdy (Patience); thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Sandra Courie and a number of nieces, nephews and additional family and friends.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
