Philip Dean Bledsoe, 68 of 5485 Cannon Bridge Road; Cope, SC 29038.
Mr. Bledsoe died Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, SC.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Canaan Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
The Casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service.
Pallbearers will be Carlos Burnett, Steven H. Shuler, Tanner Garrick, William Fiddie, Kyle Carroll and Seth Carroll.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the VFW and the employees of SCE&G.
Mr. Bledsoe was born March 5, 1945 in Augusta, GA; a son of the late Cleve Bledsoe and the late Mildred Dean Bledsoe. He was retired with 20 years from the U.S. Navy and retired from SCE&G. He was a member of the Assembly of God and attended Canaan Baptist Church. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. He was preceded in death by a son; Robert Bartlow; a sister; Phyllis Bledsoe Berry, and brothers; Tony Royal Bledsoe and Jan Cleve Bledsoe.
Survivors include his wife; Anne Antley Bledsoe of Cope; children; Barbara Shuler (Randy) of Cope; Terri Carroll (Greg) of Norway; Mimi Dyches (Bennie) of Cope and Timmy Linder (Kelli) of Locust Grove, VA; a sister; Gayle Bledsoe Staubitz of Belvedere, SC and her children--Karen Stoll, John Staubitz, Erin Williams and Faith Stone; a brother; Teddy George Bledsoe of Augusta, GA; Grandchildren; Dane W. Fanning (Saudia) of Ft. Hood, Texas; Kristan Dyches (T.J.) of Cordova; Steven Shuler (Amanda)of Ft. Bragg, NC; Kyle Carroll of Norway, Seth Carroll of Norway, Katelyn Linder of Locust Grove, VA; 3 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the residence; 5485 Cannon Bridge Road; Cope, SC and at the funeral home.
Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, March 15, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
