Preston Neal Jennings

Preston Neal Jennings, 33, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, surrounded by his family.

Preston was born in Columbia, S.C.  He was the son of the late Harry “Bubba” Neal Jennings, Jr. and Lucille Irick Jennings.  He was a dedicated employee.  Preston had been employed with Edisto Deer Processing since he was 14 years of age.  He was also employed with F.L. Metts for over 14 years.  He was currently employed with Piggly Wiggly in Bamberg as a meat cutter.  In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and trail hiking.  Preston was a devoted father to his three girls. He was preceded in death by his father, his sister, Jorgia L. Kemmerlin, his maternal grandfather, Elton Norman Irick, Sr., his uncles, Elton Norman Irick, Jr. and Kenneth W. Irick.

Survivors include his wife, Tara Hance Jennings; daughters, Isabella, Hazel and Lilith Jennings; mother, Lucille Irick Jennings (Ricky Headden); maternal grandmother, Doris L. Irick; paternal grandparents, Neal and Mary Alice Jennings, Sr.; aunts, Linda Jennings, Marie Irick; uncle, Billy Jennings (Michelle); cousins, Justin Jennings (Taylor) and their children, Shayna Smoak (Landon), Andrea Kuehl (Brian), Stephen Irick, Miranda Irick, Serena Irick, Garrett Irick, Monica Irick and her children, Dawson Morgan (Don'Alyssa Steedly), Michael Wingard (Santana), Gavin Morgan and additional family and close friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 1012 Whitman Street, Orangeburg.  Burial will follow at St. George Baptist Church Cemetery, 2590 Shillings Bridge Rd, Orangeburg.  Pastor George Moore will be officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Justin Jennings, Michael Kemmerlin, Devon Driggers, T.J. Edens, Thomas Cole and Landon Smoak.

Honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Williams, Kyle Delaney, Dawson Morgan, Michael Wingard and Gavin Morgan.
