Reginald “Reg” M. Whetsell

Reginald “Reg” M. Whetsell, 79, of Orangeburg passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025 with his family by his side.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at St. George Baptist Church, 2590 Shillings Bridge Road, Orangeburg. Rev. Terry Wilder will be officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 prior to the funeral services.

Reg was born on May 18, 1945 in Orangeburg, S.C. He was the son of the late Augustus M. Whetsell and the late Nettie Jean S. Whetsell. He served his country as a Captain in the United States Army with the 101st Airborne. He was a veteran of the Vietnam war.  Reg retired from Master Chemical Corporation after many years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Boltin Whetsell; children, Gus (Misty) Whetsell of Ft. Motte, Heather (Brett) Secrist of Florida; grandchildren, Aidan Whetsell, Bodie Secrist; sister, Amy (Jewell) Proctor of Beaufort; nephews, Jeremy (Heidi) Griffith, Joseph (Tonya) Griffith.
