Renna (Perry) O'Cain

Joyce Renna Perry O’Cain, 75, of Orangeburg passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Prospect Southern Methodist Church in Jamison.  Rev. Danny McLellan and Rev. Dustin Bates will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Prospect Southern Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kirk Davis, Joey New, Freddie Axson, Bobby Bair, Greg Till and Kaleb Davis

Honorary pallbearers will be her former students as well as the Adult Sunday School class at Prospect Southern Methodist Church.

Mrs. Renna was born on September 4, 1943 in Saluda, S.C.  She was the daughter of the late B.W. Perry, Sr. and the late Sarah Butler Perry.  Mrs. Renna was a member of Prospect Southern Methodist Church.  She was a teacher at First Southern Methodist Kindergarten and Daycare and at Wesley Christian School.  She also worked at Antley’s Barbeque in Orangeburg.  She was the widow of Hubert Watson O’Cain III.  Mrs. Renna was predeceased by sisters, Diane Turner and Shirlene Rauton.

Survivors include her daughter, Sarah Lea Hucks (John) of Orangeburg; son, Hubert Watson O’Cain IV (Toni) of North; five grandchildren, Ellen Renee Hucks of Orangeburg, Rachel Hucks Carter (Jamie) of Orangeburg, Hannah Kathleen Hucks of Columbia, Addison Watson O’Cain and Ellison “Elli” Rae O’Cain of North; sisters, Loretta Jones, Yvonne Davis, Odetta Winningham (Rick), Marcy Hart; brother, Buddy Perry (Frankie); brother-in-law, David Rauton  and a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the residence of Rev. Dr. John and Sarah Lea Hucks at 350 Pinehill Street in Orangeburg.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc.
