Retired Sgt. 1st Class Thomas Eugene Heape, 79 of 182 Jericho Road; Elloree died Saturday July 25, 2015 at his residence.
The Casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service
Funeral Services will be held 4:00 PM Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Jericho United Methodist Church; (Midway Community) Cameron with burial in the Church Cemetery with Rev Roger Goupil and Rev. Barry Allen officiating with military honors directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
Pallbearers will be Irvin Shuler, Gene Felkel, Tommy Shirer, W.A. Felkel III, Donnie Fulmer, Russ Fender, Jim Dantzler and Oliver Mizzell.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Men's Bible Class of Jericho and any employees of McEntire Army Aviation Support Facility.
He was born October 15, 1935 in Calhoun County, SC; the son of the late William B. Heape and the late Lynd Shirer Heape. He was a very active member in his church, Jericho United Methodist Church; a member of the Men's Bible Class; Member of the Men's Choir; a Superintendent of Sunday School for over 30 years and was a Lay Leader. He was known for his excellent Bar-B-Que that he cooked for the annual church Bar-B-Que for many years. He was appointed by Calhoun County Council to represent the Midway Fire Department on the Calhoun County Rural Fire Commission. Folks always loved his special Chicken Bog.
