Richard A. "Dick" Edwards, Sr., 92 of Cameron died Thursday, October 29, 2015 at his residence

The Casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Cameron Baptist Church with burial at Shady Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Creston with Rev. Larry Williams and Rev. Steve Baughman officiating directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Weeks, Richard Weeks, David Edwards, Adam Edwards, Hal Edwards, Mike Barton and John Pensel.

He was born February 10, 1923 in Creston, SC; the son of the late Richard E. Edwards and the late Rena Arant Edwards. He Served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II and was a member of the DAV He was a member of Cameron Baptist Church; he served 44 years as the church treasurer of Cameron Baptist Church; he served 18 years as a Trustee of Calhoun County School Board. He was a retired farmer. He was the widower of the late Joanne H. Edwards and was preceded in death by a son; Randy Edwards.

Survivors include 4 children; Dale (Bill) Vinzant of LA; Ricky (Jackie) Edwards of Creston; Dave Edwards of Creston and Robin Anne (Gary) Kemmerlin of Orangeburg; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; 2 sisters; Lois Kennerly of Lexington; Joanne Cuttino of Cordova and 1 brother; Pete (Betty) Edwards of VA and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call at the residence.

Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, October 30, 2015 at Cameron Baptist Church in Cameron.
