Ricky L. Till, a devoted family man longtime truck driver and farmer, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026, in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Born on July 31, 1957, Ricky was dedicated to his career as a truck driver with Food Lion, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues over many years, but his passion was carrying on the family farming tradition. He took over Till’s Produce from his father. He took pride in the legacy he continued and in supporting and providing fresh produce for his family, friends, and community walking in his father’s footsteps.
Known deeply for his love of family, Ricky was a cherished husband to his beloved wife of 46 years, Connie C. Till. Together, they shared a life full of warmth and unwavering support. Ricky was a proud father to his daughters, Ginger (Frankie) Peagler of Orangeburg and Dallas (Will) Rickenbaker of Mt. Pleasant. His legacy lives on through his beloved grandchildren, Chandler, Chassidy, Chloe, Evelyn “Evy,” and Whit, who brought immense joy to his later years.
Ricky was also a brother to Traywick (Elaine) Till and Connie (Sid) Goff, who, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Lewis T. and Ogretta Still Till, whose memories he honored throughout his life.
Friends and family may pay their respects to Ricky’s family on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 2:00-3:00 P.M. at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., located at 1012 Whitman St SE, Orangeburg, SC 29115. This will be followed by a memorial service at the same location at 3:00 PM. Offering family, friends, and community members an opportunity to come together in remembrance.
Ricky L. Till’s dedication to his family, and produce farming along with his love for his community and teaching those skills to his children and grandchildren will leave a lasting imprint on all who knew him. The impact of his life will continue to be felt by his loved ones and the community he proudly served. His memory will forever remain a beacon of love and steadfastness.
