Roger L. Dantzler, Sr.

Roger L. Dantzler, Sr., 86, of Cameron passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Lexington Medical Center after a brief illness.

Mr. Dantzler was born on January 4, 1939, in Orangeburg County.  He was the son of the late Darious L. Dantzler and the late Lula E. Ayers Dantzler.  He was an avid outdoorsman that devoted his life to farming.  He enjoyed growing and sharing peanuts and piddling in his garden.

Survivors include his daughter, Leah (Bert) Bozard; son; Rod Dantzler; grandchildren, Allyn (Shannon) Bozard, Amber Jones; six great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Laura Johnson Dantzler, brothers, Andrew Dantzler, Tommy Dantzler, Jimmy Dantzler and a sister, Mary Earley.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Four Holes Baptist Church, 1622 Four Holes Road, Orangeburg.  Burial will follow at the church cemetery.  Rev. Larry Williams and Pastor Chad Garris will be officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Four Holes Baptist Church prior to the funeral service.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Ricky Jones, Chris Bishop, Ed Earley, Wesley Shuler, Trey Shirer and Jim Avent.
