Ronald T. Spires

Ronald T. Spires, 67, of St. Matthews passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Fellowship of Praise Church, 8280 Old #6 Highway, Santee. Pastor Ronnie Spires will be officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery, St. Matthews.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 P.M. on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Fellowship of Praise Church prior to the funeral service.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Stacy Cales, Ronnie Rucker, Levern Spires, Richard Wise, Billy Shannon, Ryan Kolb, Roger Kemmerlin, Gregg Riser and David Lee Mitchell.

Mr. Spires was born in Orangeburg. He was the son of the late Jim B. Spires and the late Nancy McMichael Spires. He was the owner and operator of RS Land Clearing for many years. Mr. Spires was a true outdoorsman. He loved clearing land with his bulldozer. In his spare time, he also enjoyed shooting pool. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Anthony Spires.

Survivors include his life companion of over 40 years, Jeannette Rucker; sons, Ronald G. Spires (Kelly), Jim B. “Jay” Spires (Ryan Kolb); grandchildren, Ashlyn, Dylan, Even, Jordan, Thomas, Jonathan; brothers, Jimmy Spires, Chris Spires; Joe Spires; sisters, Diane Rucker, Brenda Mitchell, and Kay Crosby.
