Mrs. Rosa Lee Milhouse Dukes, 82, died April 9, 2015 at her loving daughter's residence surrounded by her family. She left this world to be with Our Heavenly Father.
Mrs. Dukes funeral will be Saturday, April 11,2015 at 11:00 AM at Four Holes Baptist Church with burial at Four Holes Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Tom McElhaney officiating.
Pallbearers are Claus King, Gene Bellis, Roger Speer, R.L. Zeigler, Matt Martin, David Summers, and Brad Clements.
Mrs. Dukes was born July 28, 1932 in Orangeburg, SC. She was the daughter of the late Jimmy Heyward Milhouse and the late Marion Augustus Champy Milhouse. Rosa or Rosie, as she was affectionally known, was a devoted church member at Four Holes Baptist Church. Rosie loved working with children at Four Holes Baptist Church; she worked with the nursery, Children in Actions and CEF and was a member of the Sybil Riley Sunday School Class and helped with Bible School. She was always there for anyone in need. Rosie also loved to travel. She was preceded in death by her husband H. Gerald Dukes and by her parents. Rosie leaves us with very fond memories as a mother and dear friend.
Survivors include her children, Lynne and Mike Reynolds of Orangeburg, Gerald Dukes and Betty Black of Hortense, GA; grandchildren Kyle and Lizz Herring of Gibsonton, FL, Tiffany and Chuck Noell of St. Matthews, Amber Reynolds and Troy Griffith of Orangeburg; great grandchildren, Jordan and Colt Noell and Izacc Ward; her brother Jimmy and Hazel Milhouse of Cameron.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, April 10, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
Memorials -- South Carolina Alzheimer Association or South Carolina Kidney Association or Four Holes Baptist Church or Friends of Orangeburg County Animal Control.
A special thank you to Grove Park Hospice for all the loving care they gave Rosie for making her journey home peaceful and all the support they gave the family during this time.
