Obituary

Roscoe Edward Cordery Jr passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on November 17, 1941, in Canon City, Colorado, Roscoe lived a life defined by capability, resourcefulness, and a deep love for the simple pleasures of nature.

Roscoe was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe Edward Cordery Sr and Lyda Ione Roy. He is survived by his children Priscilla Lee (Matthew) of Orangeburg, SC, Sealy Hall (Steve) of Indiana and James Cordery of Orangeburg, SC as well as his grandchildren Benjamin Lee, Arebella Lee, River Lee, Sheyanne Green and Hanna Hall, plus a community of friends who will deeply miss his helping hand, his quick wit, and his generous spirit.

He was a Veteran as well as a true jack-of-all-trades, gifted craftsman, and lover of the outdoors. There wasn’t a problem Roscoe couldn't solve; a project he couldn't bring to life or a gadget he couldn't fix. He approached life with a wrench in one hand and a clever solution in mind. Whether it was carpentry, mechanics, farming or fixing up something around the house, he was always willing to lend a hand. He took immense pride in working with his hands. He channeled much of that energy into woodworking, painting, gardening or fishing. Roscoe was a passionate painter, using his artistic eye to express his deep appreciation for life. He found his greatest peace in the quiet moments on the river, waiting for the perfect catch. For Roscoe, a day spent casting a line, painting, or tending his garden was a day well-lived. He loved sharing his passions, telling legendary stories, and leaving behind beautiful artwork for his loved ones to cherish.

Roscoe has cast his final line into calmer waters. The family is grateful to the Caregivers at PACE and The Oaks in Orangeburg, SC during his time there. He was loved and will be missed by many.

The family will hold a private memorial.
