Rose Diane (Weatherford) Chavis

Rose Diane Weatherford Chavis, 69, of Orangeburg passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2018.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 27, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg.  Rev. George Booth will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg.

A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 P.M. on Monday, August 27, 2018 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. prior to the funeral service.

Pallbearers  will be Carlos Michalec, Adam Williams, Ben Powers, Cecil Byrd, Rich Hammond and Tim Elders.

Mrs. Chavis was born on February 5, 1949 in Orangeburg.  She was the daughter of the late C.W. Weatherford and the late Susan Davis Weatherford.  She was retired from American Koyo.  Mrs. Chavis was a member of the House of Refuge Church on Highway 21 bypass.  She was predeceased by a brother, Edward Weatherford.

Survivors include her husband, Abraham Chavis of North; daughter, Michelle Pratt (Ben Powers) of Orangeburg; sisters, Pearl Michalec, Gloria Williams, Kathy Johnson all of Orangeburg, Christine Hobbs of Moncks Corner, Doris Weatherford of Lexington; brother, Vernon Weatherford of Orangeburg; step-daughter, Katie (Rich) Hammond of Aiken; step-grandson, Kalop Joyner of Aiken; one niece and four nephews.
