Rufus Leon Jones

Rufus Leon Jones, 77, peacefully departed this life on Friday, January 26, 2024 at his home.

He was the son of Rufus Eugene Jones and Josie Lee Jones, born on January 28, 1946 in Florence County, S.C.  Leon was employed with Bi-Lo for over 20 years where he served in management.  He was a faithful member of the Gideons for over 40 years.  His greatest passion was serving the Lord.

He is survived by his wife, Opal Jones; sons, Greg, Travis; special nieces, Sherry Narron, Norma Kirton and special nephews, Gary Narron and Bruce Narron.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jo Narron.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, January 29, 2024 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 1012 Whitman Street, Orangeburg.  Rev. Larry Wanamaker will be officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel.
